Fabulation's team
Jane Fabulet-Roberts, Founder and Co-Director
For more than fifteen years, Jane's passion has been live performance theater. She attended the Jacques Lecoq International School of Theatre in Paris and embarked on a multi-faceted live theatre career. Jane has taught drama for more than ten years and thrived as an actress, artistic director and administrator for several companies in France before settling in Portland, Oregon. Because teaching French as a second language was another interest, it was natural for Jane to combine these passions, successfully teaching drama and French in various Portland French programs and schools. She founded Fabulations, the first and only French Theatre Company in Oregon in 2007. She is also currently the Children's program manager and a teacher for children and adults at the Alliance Française de Portland. Jane is originally from Rouen, Normandy.
Carine Zimber, Founder and Co-Director
Carine found her true passion in teaching after she moved to the United States a decade ago. Building on her own language learning experience and her background in French and linguistics – she holds a bachelor degree in French Literature – she developed a deep interest in the language acquisition process. Since 2003, Carine has been teaching French to both children and adults. She is currently a PK teacher at L'Etoile Immersion School. When she is not teaching, she practices her patience and diplomatic skills with her two young children.
Marc Bescond, Composer and Performer
Born in Brittany, France, Marc has studied music since his childhood. His first instrument was the harp.
During those years he had the privilege to study with Bernard Cazauran, principal bass at the Paris National Orchestra. Marc has played bass in several French orchestras and chamber music ensembles. He arrived in the USA in 1998 and settled in Oregon in 1999. Since then he has played with different orchestras in Portland and Vancouver. He is currently principal bass at the Portland Columbia Symphony and teaches music in various immersion programs in Portland.
When he doesn’t play music, Marc likes to hike around the Portland area with his wife and daughter.
Bonnie Auguston, Instructor and Performer
Bonnie is a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI where she double majored in Theatre Arts and French. She is a Portland native and has returned home to live, work and perform in this beautiful city. When not acting on film or stage, Bonnie is a private French tutor and works at Lakewood Theatre Company in Lake Oswego. She is thrilled at the opportunity to combine her love of French and Theatre with Fabulations!
Pascaline Lefebvre, Instructor
Born in Metz-Lorraine, and freshly arrived from Paris, France, Pascaline earned her Audiovisual BTS diploma in Cinema and Performing Arts Production. She worked for 12 years with children from inner cities in the theater company Tamèrantongl as director, assistant director and pedagogical director. She led them on tours in France and abroad (Mexico, Italy, Switzerland), promoting their talent and energy and developing their self-confidence. Now settling in Portland, she’s excited to join Fabulations and continue her passion for theater. Because education and teaching were always part of her work and interests, she’s also thrilled to begin a new position as a French teacher for the Alliance Française.
Ani Tiganasu, Instructor and Performer
Ani comes from Romania, a Latin country where she had the chance to grow in a French bilingual environment. She has always had a strong passion for the performing arts. During her school years she began exploring the three perspectives of theater: actor, director and spectator. After finishing her studies in French language and literature, she worked for various cultural projects in Europe and her experience developed in organizing festivals. More recently, she has turned back to teaching. Now, she seeks to share her love for French and theater in the fabulous city of Portland.
