Let’s the French Theater World sweep over you!
 
Portland – OR – Fabulations, newly born French Language Theater Company is about to begin its First French Theater Festival, next Saturday, March 17th. All events, designed to be family friendly, are in French and fit the needs of native and non-native speakers.
 
In honor of the official International French week, the Fabulations’ team takes over many Portland’s districts and brings the French artistic heritage to the Oregonians. Lead by Jane Fabulet-Roberts – from the Parisian International Acting School Jacques Lecoq – and Carine Zimber, the company will offer performances, storytimes and open classes.
 
The Festival is a glimpse of the group activities: since 2007, Fabulations has staged four original creations and has performed several time for private and public events including the Bastille Day Alliance Française’s annual event. As they truly believe that drama is a creative way to develop a second language oral self-confidence, the team members also offer classes and camps in every French Immersion Schools of Portland all year long.
 
For its premiere edition, a lot of fun events have been planned! From Séraphine, a play that takes the audience on an adventure around the world (targeted at kids aged 3-6), to a one-woman show performed in a French brasserie, the week will present really different opportunities to discover the French Theater World.

Starting Saturday March 17th through Sunday the 25th, Fabulations encourages any Portlanders, French lovers or theater lovers to try out the First French Language Theater Festival of Portland.

Lights on! The French theater world is coming to town!

Portland, OR – Fabulations, the first and only French Language Theater in all the Pacific Northwest is presenting its premier Theater festival, in honor of the official international Francophone week – March 17th to 25th, 2012.

Celebrate this worldwide celebration by following the Fabulations' artistic team around Portland for a week of fun, family-friendly events. From performances to open classes, through storytimes and readings, the entire program has been designed to fit the general public needs!  

The program is not only for French native speakers or students learning French, but also for the rest of the community willing to have a glimpse of the French stage tradition, since all events in French are surrounded by explanations or translations.

Brought to the audience by Jane Fabulet-Roberts, from the world famous Parisian International Acting School “Jacques Lecoq”, some of the shows - like Séraphine (Saturday March 17th, the Northwest Children's theater and School) are specifically tailored towards young audiences. But adults are not left stranded with some exclusive performances such as Bassinette, a unique musical tale, Tuesday 20th at La Brasserie Montmartre.

From Satuday March, 17th to Sunday the 25th, have a taste of the great Moliere's heritage.

Préparez-vous pour un moment dramatiquement français ! 

Portland, OR – Fabulations, unique compagnie de théâtre française sur la cote Nord-Ouest des Etats-Unis, présente la première édition de son Festival de Théâtre Français, organisé dans le cadre de la semaine mondiale de la francophonie (samedi 17 au dimanche 25 mars 2012).

Fabulations est une association récemment créée (2007) par Jane Fabulet-Roberts, ancienne élève de la prestigieuse école de théâtre internationale Jacques Lecoq à Paris. Avec déjà à son compteur quatre créations originales, toutes primées par les critiques, la compagnie promeut la langue de Molière sur scène et dans les écoles de Portland, en Oregon. 

Sur une semaine, le public est invité à découvrir la culture française et les particularités de son héritage artistique au travers d’un programme comprenant des spectacles, des ateliers/classes de théâtre ainsi que des heures du conte… en français.

L’ensemble des animations sont à destination du grand public et en langue française. Malgré tout, chacun pourra y trouver chaussure à son pied puisque tous ont été également conçus avec un public non-francophone en tête.  Par exemple, La Leçon de Lulu (le mardi 20 mars à la Brasserie Montmartre, Portland) est une mise en scène clownesque d’une introduction aux français pour débutants !

Get ready for a very French theatrical time!

Portland, OR – Fabulations, first and brand new French Language Theater in Oregon is presenting the premier edition of its theater festival, in honor of the official international Francophone week – March 17th to 25th, 2012.

Fabulations is a newly born (2007) and Portland based French Language Theater company lead by Jane Fabulet-Roberts, who attended the prestigious Jacques Lecoq International Acting School in Paris. This unique Northwest organization’s annual season features four original creations. Besides well-reviewed shows, the theater offers outreach drama classes and workshops.

The program of the Festival includes performances, open classes and story-times. This week-long, fun-packed celebration of the French Language and Francophone cultures spans the Portland region! Everyone should find a great fit for their needs, since shows and activities are tailored towards the entire family.

All events are in French, but that should not stop non-speakers: Fabulations’ shows have been designed with an English speaking audience in mind! For example, the farcical La Leçon de Lulu (Lulu’s lesson) – Tuesday, March 20th at La Brasserie Montmartre (626 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR) - is a perfect introduction to French Language vocabulary for beginners - translations will also be provided!
